Our Library Our Community
A Photography Exhibition Made with and by Local People in Huddersfield
Our Library, Our Community is a photography exhibition created with and by local people in Huddersfield.
It is part of the Our Cultural Heart Library Festival and brings together photos taken during a series of creative photo walks around the town centre.
The photo walks were a way to spark conversations about the changes happening in Huddersfield, especially the development of the new Library Hub and the future of the town centre.
Some people shared personal stories and reflections. Others simply took the time to slow down and see familiar surroundings in a new light.
The exhibition is on display at Hive Huddersfield CIC Café, and we’d love for you to pop in and take a look.
Huge thanks to everyone who made this possible:
– Kirklees Libraries for commissioning the project
– Everyone who took part in the public photo walks
– Claire Cook, the brilliant staff team, and students from Employability Solutions Ltd for getting involved
– And Gabby Hurt and the team at Hive Café for hosting the exhibition so warmly
Come along, have a cuppa, and see Huddersfield through the eyes of your community.
